Supporting program at IE expo 2013 dedicated to global networks

IE expo 2013, which takes place from May 13 to 15 in Shanghai, has developed into the foremost environmental technology for China and Asia.

Reflecting the importance of this event, a total of three government ministers have announced they will be presiding at the opening ceremony: Zhou Shengxian, China's Minister of Environmental Protection; Qiu Baoxing, Vice-Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development; and the Bavarian State Minister of the Environment and Public Health, Dr. Marcel Huber. Not only that,but this year IE expo is putting on its biggest ever supporting program.

Highlights Forum I

Taking a close look at developments in new environmental technologies, the Forum Development of Environmental Protection Industry is being held on all days of the show, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Chinese Society of Environmental Science (CSES). Many representatives from Chinese politics,among them Zhou Shengxian, Minister of Environmental Protection, Qiu Baoxing, Vice-Minister of the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and Wang Yuqing, Vice-Director of Environment and Resources Protection of the National People´s Congress and President of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, are making use of IE expo as a forum for top-level expert exchange. The panel discussions and the presentation cover in particular the theme of innovative technologies, analytical methods and the latest trends in environment and energy.

Highlight Innovation Awards 2013

The 2013 Innovations Awards of the Pumps & Valves Industry will be presented on May 14 at IE expo in recognition of ideas and progress in global environmental perspectives. The awards are organized by Ringier Trade Media Ltd. Shanghai and MMI-ZM Trade Fairs.

Highlights Forum II

Also taking place in parallel with this is the Intelligent Urbanization Forum, which examines in detail the opportunities and risks involved in the rapid urbanization of China and Asia. Taking part in this forum, alongside Dr. Marcel Huber,Bavarian State Minister of the Environment and Public Health, is Professor Meng Wei, President of the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences and Dr. h.c. Hans Huber, a member of the International Expert Group on Earth System Preservation (IESP).

Highlights – Additional program

On the subject of "Sustainable Urbanization", IESP is organizing a workshop on May 13 and 14 which examines the use of ecological practices in cities in the three sectors of water management, food safety and resources protection. As well as this, between May 13 and 15, there will be a range of technical and scientific events organized by the DWA and two summit meetings on the themes of "Future energy-generation from waste" and "International water and waste-water processing techniques". With regard to planning future investment in China, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management will be presenting the latest technological developments and system solutions as part of the "Austria Day".

Also being put on, throughout the show, are presentations by the exhibitors,organized jointly by MMI-ZM Trade Fairs and Messe München. Detailed information about further workshops and lectures by our international partners BMU, GWP and BMBF can be found on our website.
